Dragons Lie In Wait

Dragons Lie In Wait

We preview this weekend’s clash in Wales as Munster travel to Newport-Gwent Dragons for Round 9 of the Guinness PRO12, a fixture where both sides will look to bounce back following respective defeats in the previous round’s action.

While last weekend’s loss to table-topping Connacht was only Munster’s second of the current campaign, it was on Welsh soil that Munster suffered their first, playing out a 22-25 defeat at Scarlets in Round 5. And, having previously required a last gasp try to beat Ospreys at the Liberty Stadium in September, Munster can expect yet another formidable challenge in Wales on Sunday.

The Welshmen may have gone down to Ulster last time out at Rodney parade, but that game ended a five game winning streak at the venue in which both Ulster and Leinster were amongst those defeated.

Munster’s league record at the venue is an even won six, lost six and will need a marked improvement on last weekend’s performance if they are to tip the balance in their favour this weekend.
