Squad Update

The squad gathered in UL today as preparations continue for Sunday’s Guinness PRO12 encounter away to Newport-Gwent Dragons at Rodney Parade – KO 2.30pm.
A number of players sat out today’s training session including BJ Botha (concussion), Francis Saili (calf), Donnacha Ryan (ribs), Andrew Conway (illness) and Conor Murray (foot) while Tyler Bleyendaal (quad) and Mike Sherry (knee) did make a return to the UL training pitch.
Both Bleyendaal and Sherry will report to Munster medial staff tomorrow in reviewing their progress post-session.
Saili will undergo a scan today for a calf strain he sustained over the weekend, while Murray has progressed to light running this week as he manages a bruised bone in his foot.
Donnacha Ryan, who reported rib pain, did follow a gym programme today while BJ Botha continued to follow his return to play protocols.
Tommy O’Donnell (hip), Peter McCabe (pec) and Johnny Holland (hamstring) all stepped up their rehabilitation by working with S&C Coach Aidan O’Connell pitch-side.
