The game saw Foley make ten changes to the side that lost Connacht in Thomond Park the week previous, and speaking with media after yesterday’s result, the Head Coach commented,
“Players have been given their chance but they haven’t taken it. We butchered a couple of chances in the first half and we didn’t give ourselves anything to hold on to. It could have been 20-6 if we’d taken our opportunities and confidence has nothing to do with catching a ball or taking a pass but we couldn’t do that and it’s very frustrating.”
In looking ahead to Saturday’s crucial Champions Cup tie against Leicester Tigers in Limerick, Foley added,
“We want to get our heads down and make sure we get a performance against Leicester at Thomond Park, make sure we stop the rot.
“Leicester are right up there in the top half of the Aviva Premiership table. They were down a few points against Worcester yesterday and came back. They are going to be a tough outfit to beat.”
Munster v Leicester Tigers, European Champions Cup, Saturday December 12th at Thomond Park – KO 7.45pm.
