Munster A Side Named
22nd January 2016 By Munster Rugby
Head Coach Mick O’Driscoll makes just three changes from the side that suffered defeat to Yorkshire Carnegie in Round 5 of the British & Irish Cup. Tomorrow sees Munster A bid for a place in the knock-out stages when they welcome London Scottish to CBC Lansdowne, Cork – KO 2pm.
Following his European debut against Stade Francis at Thomond Park last weekend, academy loosehead Liam O’Connor returns to the Munster A fold to start in the front row.
Hooker Kevin O’Byrne also returns to the starting line-up with Peter McCabe remaining in situ at tighthead.
In an otherwise unchanged pack, Shannon’s Lee Nicholas and the academy’s Sean McCarthy continue in the second row, as do Jordan Coghlan, Sean Doyle and captain Shane Buckley in the back row.
The final change comes on the left wing with Darren Sweetnam promoted to a starting position.
Duncan Williams and Johnny Holland remain at half-back as do Cian Bohane and Dan Goggin in mid-field, with academy winger Stephen Fitzgerald continuing on the right wing.
Academy full-back David Johnston will again take charge at full-back.
Should he feature from the bench tomorrow, academy full-back/wing Steven McMahon will make his first B&I Cup appearance.
