Action shots and video highlights from Munster’s final Champions Cup game of the season, concluding their European campaign on a high with a 5-28 bonus point win over Treviso at the Stadio Monigo.

With tries from man of the match Ronan O’Mahony (brace), Dave Kilcoyne and Conor Murray, and four conversions from the boot of Ian Keatley, Munster were deserved winners and ended this season’s Champions Cup campaign in third on the Pool 4 table after three bonus point wins culminated in 15 tournament points.

Speaking after the game Head Coach Anthony Foley commented, “It was a bit scrappy at times.  I thought we started really well but after going 14 points up we gave them a foothold back in the game through some indiscipline and they got some dominance in the scrum towards the end of the first half.  That allowed them get into the corners and build mauls against us.  We conceded back-to-back penalties and a yellow card and that gave them a lot of momentum for a good twenty minutes.

“We had a lack of control at times.  We made good breaks in the game and tried to pass the ball when in the tackle rather than pre or post the tackle, plus Treviso also seemed to capitalise on the ball when we kicked it long.  That lack of control was the only thing we spoke about at half time and we managed it better in the second half.”

On the travelling support Foley added, “I thought it was excellent.  They really got in behind the team.  It’s a bit unusual to be an away team and probably have 50% of the support.  It’s incredible and the boys really appreciate it, and building on the support we had in Thomond Park last weekend, we could be starting something again.”
