Crescent strated strong with Daniel Hurley scoring a penalty in the first five minutes, but Glenstal’s outhalf Ben Healy scored a penalty of his own to put the sides level.
But soon after Billy O’Hora restored Crescent’s lead by scoring the game’s opening try. Glenstal responded well with a try from captain Jack Stafford, Healy added the conversion.
But the moment of the game came just before half-time when Hurley collected the ball deep inside his own half and scored a superb individual try in the corner, adding an equally impressive conversion to put Crescent 15-10 ahead at the break.
Crescent dominated the second half scoring four tries the first of which came from half-time sub Mikey Sheehan. Soon followed by Conor Phillips, who finished in the corner. Hurley was unable to convert.
Sub Jake Fehily showed great pace to score an impressive intercept try from inside his own 22 to run in under the posts. Hurley added the easy conversion.
Glenstal managed to restore some pride when George Downing crossed the white-wash.Healy added the conversion to make the score 34-17.
Flanker Niall Mulcahy provided the icing on the cake after a poorly contested box kick from Mark Edwards fell into his hands and showed enough pace to score in the corner. Final score: Crescent 39 Glenstal 17.
