We give you an exclusive behind the scenes look at Munster’s new single training centre which is currently under construction in UL, and on course to open this summer.

The University of Limerick has commenced construction on Munster Rugby's new state-of-the art single training centre.

The centre will include a new elite performance gym facility in close proximity to the already abundant list of amenities at UL, from grass and 4G playing pitches to an Olympic sized swimming pool, 50 seater lecture theatre, medical room, physiotherapist room, video analysis room and more.

The floor area of the new training centre is 2,636m2. The estimated weight of the concrete in the building is 3,840 tonnes, while the estimated weight of structural steel is 12 tonnes.

The concrete frame including the roof structure is due for completion in February, while work has commenced on brickwork and blockwork as well as the mechanical and electrical services installations.
