5 Munster Players Included For French Test

Ireland Head Coach Joe Schmidt has included 5 Munster players in his matchday 23 for Round 2 of the 2016 RBS 6 Nations against France at the Stade de France this Saturday – KO 2.25pm (Irish).

Conor Murray and CJ Stander remain in the starting XV at scrum-half and blindside flanker respectively while James Cronin, Donnacha Ryan and Tommy O’Donnell are named amongst the replacements.

Knocks to Simon Zebo and Keith Earls have ruled them out of contention for this weekend’s game.

Commenting on Zebo and Earls, Schmidt said, “They got through training but at the same time we felt they weren’t 100% fit and therefore it was a risk.  There’s nothing worse than having someone replaced early in the game who potentially wasn’t fit.  Or to have someone come off the bench who is not fully fit is not the best thing to do when you are going to Paris.”
