In Pics: Dragons Preparations

Despite the wind and rain of ‘Storm Jake’, Munster took to the training field at UL today as they ready themselves for Saturday’s Guinness PRO12 encounter against Newport-Gwent Dragons at Thomond Park – KO 7.35pm.

Munster scrum-half Duncan Williams met with media today in previewing the game and is hoping to give those in the stands and terraces of Thomond Park this weekend plenty of reasons to cheer.

“Our home record this season has not been up to scratch so far and we’re looking to change that.  We hope to have a big crowd behind us and it’s up to us to give them something to cheer.

“The Dragons are always a sticky side however and we have had plenty tough battles against them over the years, both home and away.  They are especially good at the breakdown, both in protecting and contesting for the ball, and we’ll need to match them on that score.

“They beat us well over in Rodney Parade in our last game.  They, unlike us, took their opportunities well and with good pressure they forced a number of penalties out of us.  Hopefully the boot will be on the other foot this weekend, but we’ll need to be a lot better than we were over there in December.”
