In Pics: Preparations For Cardiff

With every point crucial at what is now very much the business end of the season, Foley previews Friday night’s action which will be played on a 4G surface at the Cardiff Arms Park.

“The pace will be a lot faster and the ball does react differently to what it would on a normal grass pitch.  We have played quite a few games on these pitches and we know they make for a quicker game so good energy in the legs off the back of a game-free weekend will help us.

“A lot of teams have gone over to Cardiff and lost, just look at the likes of Ulster and Connacht this season.  They have some top class players.  In the pack alone they have the likes of Vosawi, Jenkins and Turnbull, to name a few, who will provide a very strong scrum and competitive lineout – probably one of the best defensive lineouts that we’ll face all season.

“We know a few of their coaches like Graham Steadman (Defence Coach).  We have great time for him, he was a great coach in Munster and Ireland and then there’s Danny Wilson (Head Coach) who has done a great job with a team that had to be rebuilt and they have done that well.

“It will be a tough ask for us on Friday night but we have to go there and fight our corner for our position in the table.”
