Despite tries from Darren Sweetnam – his first competitive try – Mike Sherry and Jack O’Donoghue, Munster missed their opportunity to join the league’s top-4 as Cardiff Blues ran in five tries in securing their first win over Munster since January 2013.

Remaining fifth on the PRO12 table, Munster now hope to consolidate their Champions Cup spot and get their play-off qualification hopes back on track when they welcome Zebre to Thomond Park on Friday night (Good Friday) at 7pm.
