Crossing for a try on his return to provincial duty against Zebre last Friday, Munster and Ireland scrum half Conor Murray stressed the need for consistency if Munster are to end the season on a positive note.

“Consistency is the key word for the season run-in, especially with qualification at stake.  We want to be playing knock out rugby and playing in the top tier of Europe next season.  With so much to play for we need to be winning and we need to be consistent.  Last weekend was a good start, Cardiff didn’t go to plan so we need to get on a bit of a run.

“We under no illusions that anything less will do and we are all very aware of what’s at risk, and likewise, what we could potentially achieve if we get into the knock out stages.  That could put a totally different complection on things come the end of the season.

“We have to remain positive and look forward to these games which hopefully we’ll get to play in decent weather.”
