Duncan Casey Starts For Munster A

The Munster A squad to play Ulster Ravens in Naas RFC on Thursday has been named with Duncan Casey included in a match-day squad for the first time since November.

Casey returns after rupturing his pectoral muscle against Treviso in Thomond Park in mid-November.

Munster A Head Coach Mick O’Driscoll has also named fellow squad members Gerhard van den Heever, Cian Bohane, Peter McCabe and Jordan Coghlan in the starting line-up with Bohane captaining the side.

There are 8 Greencore Academy players in the first XV with Brian Scott, Sean McCarthy, Ben Kilkenny, Conor Oliver, Gearoid Lyons, Alex Wootton, Dan Goggin and David Johsnton all included.

While the side also includes Cork Con scrumhalf John Poland and Cashel lock Sean O’Connor who both played for the Ireland U20s in this year’s 6 Nations campaign with fellow Irish U20 cap Kelvin Brown named in the extended replacements.

The bench see a further mix of club, school and contracted players with UL Bohs’ prop Philip Poillot, Roscrea CC lock Fineen Wycherley and Trinity scrumhalf Angus Lloyd in line to make their Munster A Interprovincial debuts while Shane Buckley makes the positional switch to replacement hooker for this encounter.
