Stander Receives One-Week Ban
13th June 2016 By Munster Rugby
Following on from a lengthy disciplinary hearing that commenced on Sunday, Munster and Ireland’s CJ Stander has been handed a one-week ban.
Stander was cited after receiving his first career red on Saturday, and faced lengthy deliberations with the disciplinary hearing taking place over Sunday and Monday in Cape Town and Johannesbourg respectively.
The province's player of the year was sent off after 23 minutes by refereee Mathieu Raynal for a mid-air contact with Springboks' Pat Lambie while attempting to block a kick.
CJ will be available for selection for Ireland's third and final test against South Africa.
