Video: Preseason Week 2

On Tuesday, we joined the senior squad in UL for a behind-the-scenes look at Week 2 of preseason. Following a morning Wattbike test, the lads hit the gym for a ‘size session’ before an afternoon of on-feet conditioning and pool recovery. S&C Coach PJ Wilson tells us more.
A tough three minutes on the Wattbike set the players up for the training day ahead and while Monday morning’s gym session was all about strength, Tuesday’s session focused on using ‘hypertrophy’ to add size to the players.
Following a two hour break for lunch and, very importantly, sleep and rest, the afternoon’s on-feet session began preparing players for a return to rugby training where, over the coming days, they will progress from linear running to agility patterns. With active recovery essential to continued gains, Tuesday was rounded off with some stretches in the pool.
