In Pics: Zebre Preparations
28th September 2016 By Munster Rugby
See the action shots as Munster continued their Zebre preparations at UL. After the session Director of Rugby Rassie Erasmus met with media and namechecked a number of injury returnees in contention for selection this weekend.
Erasmus confirmed that Tommy O’Donnell looks good to play on Saturday after following return to play protocols for a concussion sustained against Cardiff in round 2 of the Guinness PRO12.
There was good news also for captain Peter O’Mahony and Simon Zebo. O’Mahony has not played since rupturing his ACL in Ireland’s World Cup win over France in October of last year, while a rib injury in Munster’s season opener against Scarlets has seen Zebo miss the last three games. Erasmus noted that both players are in the mix for selection this weekend.
Robin Copeland is also in contention, as is new arrival Jaco Taute. Copeland lined out for Young Munster in the opening two rounds of the AIL, netting a brace against Cork Con last weekend, while Taute will be available once the final paperwork is completed on his work permit.
