24th January 2017 By Munster Rugby
Please see photos of a tag rugby blitz for 1st years in the new secondary school in Skibbereen.
Skibbereen Community School. The 1st years have had a 6 week block of rugby in their PE lessons with a blitz for them before they start their xmas exams. The school are also feeding into the Emerging Schools competitions.
A big thanks to the school for supporting the events.
The aim of the Emerging Schools initiative, which is being run throughout the province, is to give as many young people as possible the opportunity to play rugby with the venture proving a great success so far.
Munster's Community Rugby Officers are coaching rugby to students, many of whom have never played the sport, in schools from Kerry, West Cork, East Cork, Cork City, North Cork, Tipperary, Limerick, Waterford and Clare.
The top two schools from each region will go into a finals day in Cork and Limerick after Christmas.
