Prior to his departure for a well-earned summer break, we sat down with Scrum Coach Jerry Flannery to reflect on what was a truly unprecedented 2016/17 season.

Embarking on a new chapter at the province’s state-of-the-art High Performance Centre in UL, a rollercoaster 2016/17 season witnessed a historic win over the Maori All Blacks, a return to Europe’s final-four and a second Guinness PRO12 final in three years, while the sudden passing of Anthony Foley in Paris in October saw the squad rally and do their Head Coach and friend proud with a performance for the ages against Glasgow a week later .

Flannery, who will assume the role of Forwards Coach on his return, chats about the highs and lows of the season just past and looks ahead with confidence for 2017/18.
