Munster v Racing | Secure Your Tickets

With an optimal Saturday evening kick-off time of 5.30pm, don’t miss your chance to experience the unrivalled atmosphere of European match night at Thomond Park as Ronan O’Gara returns with Racing 92 to do battle in round 2 of the Champions Cup.

Limerick is set to come alive for the biggest night of the season thus far.  A carnival atmosphere is guaranteed in and around Thomond Park and a 5.30 kick-off is ideal for those travelling to and from, or for those who wish to continue the night in Limerick city.

On the field, Racing are chasing their first away pool win in the competition in almost two years.  However the 2016 French champions will be all the wiser for their experience of Thomond Park last season and this coupled with the nous and knowhow of O’Gara and the injured Donnacha Ryan will make them the trickiest of prospects.  Yet Munster also have the inside track on their opposition with new additions James Hart and Gerbrandt Grobler signing from the Parisian outfit this summer.

On the domestic front, Racing have blown both hot and cold to date, winning three and losing four and were gunning after Lyon handed them their first home defeat of the season in round 6 before a further defeat away to La Rochelle a week later.

It’s no surprise then that Leicester Tigers met an insurmountable force in Paris on Saturday.  Despite the Englishmen crossing after just two minutes, Racing’s reply was swift with three tries from French internationals Bernard Le Roux and Teddy Thomas, and Fijian Leone Nakarawa who Munster fans will remember from his 2015 PRO12 Final exploits in a Glasgow shirt.

Racing will look to maintain winning momentum in Thomond, but Munster will have other ideas, especially given Sunday’s draw away to Castres meaning a home win now becomes even more important this weekend.

With just days to go, make sure you are there to add your voice to the Munster roar and enjoy a night of top-flight European action in Thomond Park.
