Munster A Named to Face Bedford Blues
7th December 2017 By The Editor
Head Coach Peter Malone has named his Munster A side to face Bedford Blues in Irish Independent Park on Friday night (7.45pm) with four changes to the side that defeated Nottingham in round two.
The three changes to the pack see a mix of youth and experience introduced with academy prop Joey Conway making his B&I Cup debut, academy lock Fineen Wycherley promoted from the bench, and Tommy O’Donnell named following his return from an AC joint injury.
In the front row Mike Sherry continues at hooker with Jeremy Loughman, who has moved from the Leinster Academy on a three-month development contract, at tighthead prop.
Wycherley will pack down next to Sean McCarthy in the engine room as the academy duo of Sean O’Connor and Gavin Coombes complete the back row with O’Donnell.
The only change to the backline sees returning Ireland 7s and academy player Alex McHenry return to the midfield.
Dave Johnston will again captain the side.
In the replacements the academy’s Jack O’Sullivan and UCC prop Bryan O’Connor are in line for B&I Cup debuts.
