With just seven rounds remaining in the Guinness PRO14, Munster lie in second place of Conference A. The province are 12 points behind leaders Glasgow Warriors and seven points ahead of third-placed Cheetahs with those sides meeting in Scotstoun on Friday night.

With Ireland not in 6 Nations action this weekend, loosehead prop Dave Kilcoyne has rejoined the squad ahead of the Cardiff clash.

Head Coach Johann van Graan yesterday said there were no fresh injury concerns following the 33-5 win over Zebre at Thomond Park on Saturday night.

“Nothing big, quite a few bumps and bruises,” said van Graan. “It was a lot more physical than it looked to the eye, we had to make a lot of tackles. We knew that they wanted to keep the ball and it was important for us that they kept the ball in their own half, which I thought we did well. We defended well, we’ve only [conceded] one try in the last two games.

“We’ll make quite a few changes again for this weekend, use our squad and we’ve got two Friday games coming up after this one, which will be a short turnaround, so we need our whole squad.”

Last weekend saw Conference A leaders Glasgow draw at Dragons with Leinster and Scarlets both suffering defeats away from home. No away team managed to claim a victory last weekend and a victory in Cardiff will be very difficult to come by as the Welsh side look to close the gap on the Cheetahs in third place.
