Munster host Conference A leaders Glasgow Warriors at Irish Independent Park on Friday night in the big game of the weekend in the Guinness PRO14 (7pm).

The eagerly-awaited clash between the top two in Conference A is a fitting fixture for Munster’s final home game in Cork this season with a bumper crowd expected – tickets.

It is set to be a fascinating encounter with Glasgow having lost just one of their 15 PRO14 games so far this season, with a record points total for this stage of the season (65 points).

Overall in the competition, the sides have met on 31 occasions with Munster winning 18 of those.

Glasgow beat Munster 37-10 at Scotstoun in round four but the province have won their last six matches in Irish Independent Park since their single point reversal to Cardiff Blues in September 2016.

In their only other visit to Ireland in the PRO14 this season, Glasgow emerged with an 18-12 victory over Connacht at the Sportground in round one.

Speaking ahead of the clash, Munster Head Coach Johann van Graan said: “Glasgow are the PRO14 team of the year thus far. They are playing some fantastic rugby and have been consistent throughout the PRO14 campaign.

“I had a good look at them – an all-round good squad, they play positive rugby and will put you under pressure. I think this match is about us, we have our own standards and we want to improve on the game last weekend.

“We love playing in Cork, especially when it’s full and we are playing against quality opposition so we hope it goes well.”
