Head Of Athletic Performance Appointed

Munster Rugby and the IRFU have appointed Denis Logan as the province’s new Head of Athletic Performance. Denis will commence his role at the beginning of May.

Currently working as an assistant strength and conditioning coach with the NFL’s Cleveland Browns, Denis has worked with elite athletes for over a decade.

Prior to his time with the Cleveland Browns, the New York native was Director of Performance for the US Pro Sports division of EXOS where he worked with professional and elite athletes from a diversity of sports, including American football and Olympic events. While at EXOS, Denis was the lead strength coach for the NFL Combine and the NFL off-season development programs. Denis also worked closely with a diversity of Tactical populations, providing extensive support around training and education for US Special Forces.

Head Coach Johann van Graan commented, “After an extensive search and interview process we are delighted to welcome Denis to the province. In continuing to secure the best talent across our backroom team, Denis will add further value with his wealth of knowledge and expertise.”

About Denis Logan

Denis is a graduate of the University of Hofstra where he received his bachelor’s degree in Communications. After completing his undergraduate degree, Denis attended the United States Sports Academy where he received a dual master’s degree in Sports Medicine and Health and Fitness Management.

On completion of his master’s degree Denis did an internship with the Athlete Factory in Mobile, Alabama training local football players before commencing an internship with the NSCA in Colorado Springs and Athletes’ Performance in Tempe, Arizona.

His personal development continued with certification from the National Strength and Conditioning Association, the USA Weightlifting Association and the USA Track and Field Association. An internationally recognised speaker, he also played a role in the establishment and delivery of performance based methodology to the Argentinian Rugby Union.
