Squad Update Pre-Toulon
26th March 2018 By The Editor
The Munster squad began preparing for a huge weekend at the High Performance Centre in UL today ahead of Friday’s British and Irish Cup quarter-final against Leinster in Donnybrook and Saturday’s Champions Cup quarter-final against Toulon at Thomond Park.
Saturday’s Guinness PRO14 victory against Scarlets came at a cost with Tommy O’Donnell suffering a recurrence of the shoulder injury that sidelined him recently. The back row forward requires further consultation and will play no part this weekend.
Rory Scannell is following return to play protocols after the 19-7 win.
Simon Zebo and Andrew Conway are both expected to train at some stage this week and their progress will be monitored as the week continues.
Ronan O’Mahony is recovering from a hamstring knock sustained while playing for Munster A against Ulster A earlier this month.
Continuing to rehab: Keith Earls (knee), Duncan Williams (facial), Tyler Bleyendaal (neck), Chris Farrell (knee), Chris Cloete (forearm), Jaco Taute (knee).
There were a number of Munster senior and Academy players in All Ireland League action for their clubs at the weekend with Munster sides recording some very impressive results.

Kevin O’Byrne started as Cork Constitution recorded a 39-27 victory over UCD.
In Division 1B, Conor Fitzgerald kicked four penalties and a conversion as Shannon defeated Old Wesley 24-21 with John Foley at no.8 and Ciaran Parker appearing off the bench.
