The launch of the 2018/19 Heineken Champions Cup took place in Dublin today with the start of Munster’s European campaign less than three weeks away.

Tickets for all three of Munster’s home games in the competition are available here with Munster facing Gloucester in the first home game at Thomond Park on Saturday, October 20 (1pm) – see available tickets here.

Johann van Graan’s side face French champions Castres Olympique and English heavyweights Exeter Chiefs and Gloucester in Pool 2 of the competition.

All three European opponents have made impressive starts to the season. Exeter have won four from four in the Premiership and have secured 19 points from a possible 20 to lie second in the table behind Saracens.

The Chiefs have won both of their home games against Leicester and Sale comfortably and secured excellent wins on the road away to Wasps and Newcastle, averaging 35 points per game.

Gloucester have two wins and a draw from their opening four games and lie fifth in England’s top tier.

The Cherry and Whites have been dominant at home with victories over Northampton and Bristol. Their only loss came away at leaders Saracens while they drew the West Country derby away to Bath, 31-all.

It’s a similar story for Castres as they are also unbeaten at home and lie fifth in the Top 14 table after five games.

An away win over Montpellier was followed by home victories against Lyon and Grenoble but a late 28-27 loss in Toulon and defeat to Racing 92 in Paris sees the French outfit five points off table-toppers Clermont Auvergne.
