Munster return to European action this weekend with two weeks of Heineken Champions Cup rugby coming up as the squad travel to Exeter Chiefs on Saturday before hosting Gloucester.

After their bonus-point victory over Scarlets A on Friday night, Munster A face Leinster A in their final pool game of the Celtic Cup on Friday in Donnybrook. Both teams have won five from five in the competition so far with four try bonus-points each, Leinster have the edge in the table with a superior points difference. The winners of the clash will progress to the Celtic Cup final.

There is positive news on the injury front for hooker Rhys Marshall and tighthead prop John Ryan as they will both return to training this week ahead of the European action.

Out-half Tyler Bleyendaal also returns to full training this week.

Scrum-half Alby Mathewson suffered a knee injury during the Leinster game and will undergo a scan today to determine the extent of his injury.

Calvin Nash suffered an ankle injury while playing for Munster A on Friday night and will undergo an MRI today to determine the extent of his injury.

The following are progressing with rehabilitation: Liam O’Connor (knee), Conor Oliver (toe), Jack O’Donoghue (knee), Conor Murray (neck), Neil Cronin (shoulder), James Hart (knee), Chris Farrell (knee), Ronan O’Mahony (ankle).
