Squad Update | Pre-Castres Away

The Munster squad returned to training at the High Performance Centre in UL today ahead of Saturday’s return Champions Cup clash against French champions Castres Olympique at Stade Pierre-Fabre (6.30pm local, 5.30pm Irish time).
The Munster Rugby Medical Department have issued the below update following Sunday’s win over the French side at Thomond Park.
Chris Cloete was withdrawn for a HIA which was passed as were subsequent follow-up tests.
Chris Farrell suffered a quadriceps muscle strain and is set to miss Saturday’s game in France. He has been assessed by the medical department and will undergo treatment for same.
Joey Carbery has been managed for hamstring tightness and will continue management with the medical department.
Stephen Archer will resume team training today and Tommy O’Donnell, Stephen Fitzgerald, Jean Kleyn and Liam O’Connor will begin reintegration to team training.
The following are progressing with rehabilitation: James Cronin (leg), Rhys Marshall (hamstring), Jack O’Donoghue (knee), Dave O’Callaghan (foot), James Hart (knee), Dan Goggin (knee), Darren Sweetnam (back).
All Ireland League Action
16 Munster senior and Academy players were in All Ireland League action at the weekend.
Senior players Conor Oliver and Bill Johnston featured alongside Academy players Matt More, Ben Healy, Sean O’Connor and Diarmuid Barron for Garryowen in their 30-29 win over Shannon.
Jack Stafford, Eoghan Clarke and Craig Casey played their part for Shannon in the exciting Division 1A tie.
Six Munster players were involved in the other Division 1A Munster derby that saw Cork Constitution get the better of Young Munster.
Academy players Shane Daly and Alex McHenry featured for Con with senior man Calvin Nash and Academy players Alan Tynan, Keynan Knox and Gavin Coombes in the Young Munster side.
In Division 2A, Academy player James McCarthy helped UL Bohemians to a win over Dolphin.
