The Munster squad returned to training at the High Performance Centre in Limerick today ahead of Friday’s Guinness PRO14 Interpro derby against Ulster in Belfast.

The Munster Rugby Medical Department have issued the below update following the weekend’s defeat to Castres in France.

There were no new injuries reported following Saturday’s Champions Cup game at Stade Pierre-Fabre.

Brian Scott suffered a foot injury while playing for Cork Constitution in the All Ireland League on Saturday and will undergo a scan today to assess the extent of his injury.

Dan Goggin and Darren Sweetnam will reintegrate into team training this week.

The following are progressing with rehabilitation: James Cronin (leg) Rhys Marshall (hamstring), Jack O’Donoghue (knee), Dave O’Callaghan (foot), James Hart (knee), Chris Farrell (thigh).

All Ireland League Action

14 senior and Academy players were in All Ireland League action for their clubs at the weekend.

Senior man Brian Scott picked up an injury while helping Cork Constitution to a 34-14 win over Terenure College as Academy players Shane Daly, Alex McHenry and Seán French also featured.

Academy man Ben Healy kicked a last-minute penalty to help Garryowen secure a 14-12 victory over UCC with senior player Neil Cronin also involved along with Academy duo Sean O’Connor, who was a try-scorer on the day, and Matt More.

Senior player Calvin Nash and Academy men Alan Tynan and Keynan Knox all played in Young Munster’s 17-11 loss to Clontarf.

Academy players Craig Casey and Jack Stafford helped Shannon to a 9-8 win over UCD.

Academy player James McCarthy helped UL Bohs to a 13-10 victory over Old Crescent on Friday night.
