Munster v Leinster in Thomond Park

Munster’s Guinness PRO14 Interpro derby against Leinster takes place at Thomond Park on Saturday, December 29, at 5.15pm with the game completely sold-out weeks in advance of the fixture.

With extra seating installed and sold-out in record time, an attendance of 26,267 will attend the fixture – a record-equalling attendance for a PRO14 game at Thomond Park.

Nominated as the province’s official Charity Match in support of Clíona’s Foundation and Irish Cancer Society, find the full match-day information here.

Champions Next in Limerick

The reigning Champions lead the way in Conference B and travel to Limerick off the back of dominant performances across Europe and the League, including a dramatic win against Connacht at the RDS last weekend.

A huge task awaits as the Leinsterman have continued their run of form and are as dangerous as ever on the road with only one defeat away from home in the Guinness PRO14 this season.

The men in blue were also the last opposition to enjoy victory in Thomond Park when defeating Munster 34-23 in December 2017.

The game will be televised live on eir Sport and Premier Sports.

A Word From The Head Coach

Ahead of the game, Munster Head Coach Johann van Graan said: “The last time we lost a game in Thomond Park was against Leinster last year in the same fixture.

“They had a very good start to the game and we had a very good second half and there were one or two individual moments that made a difference in that game and I believe it will be the same on the weekend.

“There are two quality sides playing against each other and we’ve got most of our squad available for this game and I believe it will come down to two things. One, each individual player will play to the best of his ability for both teams and the team that uses the opportunities and that is something we’d like to improve on.”

Overall Guinness PRO14 head to head record

Played 35, Munster won 13 Leinster won 22.
