Benetton Rugby made history as the first Italian team to qualify for the Guinness PRO14 Final Series and travel to Limerick full of confidence.

Their last two visits to Ireland saw Benetton draw against Ulster in Belfast and against Leinster at the RDS.

The majority of Italy’s national side play with Benetton with Tommaso Allan pulling the strings from out-half. Wingers Monty Ioane and Iliesa Ratuva Tavuyara and two of the most dangerous wide men in the competition.

Ahead of the game, Benetton Head Coach Kieran Crowley said: “We don’t want to stop here. We have nothing to lose because nobody expected us to get here.”

Johann van Graan’s Munster side have won nine of their last ten Guinness PRO14 encounters and completed an unbeaten regular season at home by seeing off fellow Final Series qualifiers Connacht last week.

The winners of the clash will face Leinster at the RDS in the Guinness PRO14 semi-final on Saturday, May 18 (3pm).
