The Munster A team has been named by Head Coach Peter Malone for Friday evening’s Celtic Cup clash against Cardiff Blues at Irish Independent Park (6pm).

Senior scrum-half Craig Casey captains the side and is one of five additions to the starting XV along with Jack Crowley, Louis Bruce, Corrie Barrett and John Hodnett.

Five Greencore Munster Rugby Academy players are involved as Ben Healy, Paddy Kelly and Hodnett start with Diarmuid Barron and Thomas Ahern among the replacements.

Garryowen’s Bailey Faloon and Skibbereen man Jamie Shanahan are named in a Munster A squad for the first time this season with Shanahan in line to make his debut at this level.

Munster A: Jack Crowley; Rob Hedderman, Harry O’Riordan, Jack Delaney, Louis Bruce; Ben Healy, Craig Casey (C); Corrie Barrett, Scott Buckley, James Kendrick; Cian Hurley, Paddy Kelly; David Hyland, John Hodnett, Luke Clohessy.

Replacements: Diarmuid Barron, Luke Masters, Dylan Murphy, Thomas Ahern, Daniel Okeke, Bailey Faloon, Charlie O’Doherty, Jamie Shanahan.

Entry to all three home Celtic Cup round games are free for Full and Associate members of the MRSC.  Members can redeem their ticket via their account by entering the promo code FREE.

Tickets are available to buy at the gates from 5:15pm with bars and catering units in the ground also open at 5:15pm.

  • No one will be able to enter the stadium with alcohol or glass and customers will be requested to remove the lids of any soft drink containers on entering the stadium.
  • Please do not enter the pitch area at any time and adhere to the stadium ground regulations found here.
  • There will be stewards and security on site to assist you with your enquiries on the day, and to ensure that the event runs smoothly and safely, so please respect their requests.
  • Parking is not available within the grounds of Irish Independent Park.
