Munster Rugby Elite Player Development Manager Peter Malone has provided the first Academy Update of the season.
The Academy squad trained with the seniors throughout pre-season with six players recently making senior debuts.
Academy players have also been in Celtic Cup and All Ireland League action as they continue their development towards becoming professional players for the province.
Diarmuid Barron, Keynan Knox and Jack O’Sullivan were part of the senior squad for the recent Guinness PRO14 double-header in South Africa with Barron and Knox both making appearances.
Four Academy players were in All Ireland League action last weekend.
Jack Stafford was a try-scorer for Garryowen in their 25-24 victory over Lansdowne with Jack Daly also lining out at Dooradoyle.
Seán French helped Cork Constitution to a 28-25 win over Clontarf and John Hodnett featured for UCC as they swept past Ballynahinch on a 39-6 scoreline.
On the injury front, Jake Flannery is rehabilitating his shoulder after undergoing surgery following the summer’s U20 World Championship.
Shorter-term absentees Thomas Ahern, Eoghan Clarke, James French, Eoin O’Connor, Paddy Kelly, Jonathan Wren and Josh Wycherley are expected to be back in action in the coming weeks.
