Munster face Ulster at Thomond Park on Saturday evening in the first Interpro derby of the season with the majority of the province’s World Cup players set to return for the clash (5.15pm).

Both sides have made strong starts to the campaign and have each won four of their five Guinness PRO14 encounters.

Munster and Ulster go into Saturday evening’s derby in fine form with Munster top of Conference B and Ulster second in Conference A.

Both sides have suffered only one defeat in five rounds of PRO14 rugby so far this season, and both were to the same team – Cheetahs.

The last thee fixtures between the two rivals have been evenly split with a win apiece plus a draw although Munster secured a record 64-7 win over Ulster at Thomond Park last season.

Former Munster out-half Bill Johnston could feature for the visitors having guided Ulster to a convincing win over Zebre last weekend.

Ulstermen have won their last two matches against fellow Irish provinces and were the last team to deny Munster a win at Thomond Park having earned a 24-all draw in April 2018.
