Preview

Munster have made a very strong start to the Guinness PRO14 season with five wins in six games giving the province a three-point lead over Scarlets at the top of Conference B but that counts for little this weekend.

The Champions Cup provides a different challenge with an Ospreys side that has yet to hit top form this season well able to produce when it matters most.

The region were the top Welsh side in last year’s Guinness PRO14 and save their best performances for when their backs are against the wall.

Coached by former Ireland international Allen Clarke, Champions Cup qualification looked unlikely towards the end of last season but the Ospreys delivered when it mattered most to produce five wins on the bounce. A 21-10 play-off win over their biggest rivals Scarlets clinched the final Champions Cup spot.

A last-minute Arno Botha try gave Munster a bonus-point 28-12 victory when the sides met at Irish Independent Park last month and Ospreys will be desperate to reverse that scoreline in front of their home fans.
