Preview

A huge test awaits Munster in Limerick on Saturday as a star-studded Racing 92 side visit Thomond Park on the back of two vital wins against derby rivals Stade Francais and reigning European champions Saracens.

Former Munster men Donnacha Ryan and Simon Zebo are expected to line out for the French side with another former Munster man, Mike Prendergast, on the Racing coaching team as Attack and Backs Coach.

The sides have met seven times in the Champions Cup with Munster winning four of those encounters. The last time the teams faced off was in the 2018 semi-final with Racing earning a 27-22 victory in Bordeaux.

A solid start to the season has seen Munster win seven of their eight games and last week’s bonus-point win away to Ospreys gave Johann van Graan’s side the perfect start to their Champions Cup campaign.

The team will need to up their game this weekend if they are to overcome a Racing side who will be desperate to secure their first victory at Thomond Park.
