Squad Update | Munster Prepare For Ospreys In Champions Cup

The Munster squad have started their preparations for Sunday’s Champions Cup clash against Ospreys at Thomond Park (1pm).

Following Sunday’s clash against Racing 92, Jean Kleyn will go for a scan on his neck.

Tommy O’Donnell (hamstring) is continuing to rehab.

Fineen Wycherley is continuing to follow return to play protocols and may be available this weekend.

Joey Carbery underwent successful surgery on a wrist injury last week and will begin rehabilitation with the medical department.

Continuing to rehab: Tadhg Beirne (ankle), Brian Scott (foot), Tyler Bleyendaal (neck), Ciaran Parker (calf).

Munster players in AIL action

There were 14 Munster players (senior and Academy) in All Ireland League action at the weekend.

Four Academy players featured in the Munster derby between Cork Constitution and Young Munster at Temple Hill with Con securing an 18-3 victory.

Jonathan Wren and Seán French played their part for Con with Alan Tynan and Josh Wycherley lining out for the Cookies.

Five Munster men were in action for Garryowen in their 40-14 win over UCD. Senior man Alex Wootton and Academy player Diarmuid Barron scored two tries apiece with Academy man Liam Coombes also touching down.

Academy duo Jack Stafford and Paddy Kelly also lined out for Garryowen in the victory.

Three Academy players lined out for UCC in their 19-18 loss away to Lansdowne – Jack O’Sullivan, John Hodnett and James French.

There were two Academy players in action for Shannon with Eoghan Clarke and Jake Flannery featuring in their 31-13 Munster derby win over Highfield.

Flannery made his first AIL appearance of the season for Shannon after recovering from shoulder surgery and kicked three conversions and a penalty. Find more about Jake below.
