Over 60 Clubs & Schools’ Jerseys Will Be On Display In Thomond Park

Over 60 clubs and schools’ jerseys will be on display in Thomond Park for Friday night’s Guinness PRO14 clash with Connacht as part of the #JerseysOfMunster campaign.

As lockdown measures continue and everyone plays their part in the fight against Covid-19 we wanted to join forces with our clubs and schools for our upcoming home fixtures in Thomond Park.

With limited community rugby this season, the clubs and schools have paved the way for Munster to continue playing at this level. Our clubs and schools are central to every Munster squad that takes to the pitch. With this in mind, we wanted to further highlight the importance of grassroots rugby during these challenging times.

Over 60 jerseys will be on display for Friday’s fixture with Connacht. All 15 of our senior clubs will be represented while jerseys of over 30 junior clubs will be on display too.

Over 15 schools and the Munster Association of Referees (MAR) will also be represented.

With further home fixtures to follow in the coming weeks against Scarlets and Benetton, we will continue to accept jerseys from those who would like to take part.

Head of Rugby Development, Colm McMahon, said:

“We’ve invited the clubs and schools of Munster to submit a jersey to put on display for our upcoming home games to show that they are a huge part of the Munster Rugby tradition and culture.

“The feedback was very positive. Straight away we had a huge amount of responses back saying it was a fabulous idea, great initiative and they were delighted to be a part of it. They felt really good that they were being included as part of the Munster fabric.”

Check out our interview with Colm McMahon below which includes a sneak peek of some of the jerseys which will be on display on Friday night.
