Did You Know?
Munster and Wasps last faced off in Coventry back in November 2007 with the hosts, who were European champions at the time, recording a 24-23 victory.
A 19-3 win for Munster in the final Pool game at Thomond Park knocked Wasps out of the competition as Munster topped a pool that also contained Clermont Auvergne.
Preview
Rarely have the weeks building up to a Champions Cup tie revolved so little around the match itself.
Rugby has been very much secondary in recent weeks as 14 Munster players and staff have been quarantining in Cape Town with a further 34 quarantining at home in Ireland since last Wednesday.
A squad of internationals, players returning from injury and young players from our National Talent and Provincial Talent squads have been training at the HPC in the interim ahead of the game.
All eyes will be on Friday’s team announcement with a number of young players set to be handed their senior debuts.
Press Pass
Hear from Munster Head Coach Johann van Graan, captain Peter O’Mahony and Academy Manager Ian Costello ahead of the game.
