The Christmas festivities have well wrapped up with the squad returning to the HPC in UL today for training ahead of the province’s round 9 fixture against Connacht on New Year’s Day (5.15pm).

While Munster’s St Stephen’s Day clash against Leinster was postponed, there were a number of disruptions across the sporting calendar over the weekend due to Covid-19 cases.  In the United Rugby Championship the Italian derby between Zebre and Benetton was the only round 8 game to take place.

On a player movement front hooker Declan Moore has linked up with Ulster Rugby for short-term injury cover.

Joey Carbery (elbow), Calvin Nash (ankle), Rowan Osborne (head), and RG Snyman (knee) continue to be managed by the medical department and are not available.

The team to play Connacht will be confirmed by midday on Friday.
