Munster Rugby are delighted to announce that the province have received a €300,000 grant from the Government’s Sports Capital Programme.

The funding will go towards the Musgrave Park floodlight project.

The project will involve replacing the current floodlights with a state-of-the-art LED system, similar to what was recently installed in Thomond Park.

The new system will provide energy saving benefits and will contribute to Munster Rugby’s sustainability and climate goals with the province recently signing up to the UN Climate Action Framework.

The Musgrave Park floodlight project will go out to tender next month with works expected to take place in the summer.

This project follows on from previous investment in Musgrave Park including the installation of a modified 3G pitch in 2018 and the construction of a new 3,500 seated stand and covered terrace in 2015.

Munster Rugby would like to take this opportunity to thank the government for their ongoing support of sport in this country.
