Munster Rugby are pleased to announce a three-year extension of the province’s Medical and Sports Therapy partnership with Fleming Medical and their first aid brands, Physiologix and Medicare.

The partnership began in 2017 and has been a great success with the new three-year extension running from 2022 up to 2025.

Being a Limerick-based and family-run company since 1985, Fleming Medical has supported and been supported by local businesses and sports teams so the collaboration with Munster Rugby has always been a meaningful one. Kate Fleming, Director at Fleming Medical, believes it is vital to give back to the community:

“We have always had a strong-rooted relationship with pharmacies through our pharmacy exclusive product range and services. Pharmacies are often at the heart of their local community which includes the involvement of local organisations, like sports teams. We also share that value and commitment to local involvement and contribute to sport at all levels”.

Bobby Fleming, son of founder Mark and Kate, and International Business Developer at Fleming Medical, echoes this sentiment:

“We are proud of where we are from, and local relationships are extremely important to us. We are excited to have partnered with Munster Rugby once again as we are aligned in the fact that we both believe in recovery just as much as giving your best performance on and off the pitch.”

Their partnership over the past few years has seen the naming of the Physiologix Treatment Room in the Munster Rugby High Performance Centre at the University of Limerick and the collaboration of Fleming’s new product development team. Munster’s Lead Physiotherapist, Damien Mordan, had in researching, creating, and improving products within the Medicare and Physiologix ranges:

“I believe the standard of materials, design and technology is excellent in the Physiologix range, my Physio team and I are using them both on and off the pitch daily for the Munster team.”

Another recent collaboration between Fleming Medical and Munster saw them come together to create a series of educational videos on injury management, prevention and on-pitch first aid. One video featured Munster’s Head of Medical Dr. Jamie Kearns talking through the contents of the Medicare Physiologix First Aid Sports Training Kit as well as some tips and tricks. Players Dave Kilcoyne, Jack Crowley, and Shane Daly also featured in a video detailing what they do to avoid injury while training and playing at an elite level.

You can follow @Physiologix_Sports and @medicarefirstaid on Instagram to watch the series of videos and to stay up to date with future collaborations and competitions.
