Squad Update | Preparations Continue For Scarlets In Cork

The Munster squad resumed preparations at the HPC on Monday ahead of Friday night’s URC round 15 clash against Scarlets at Musgrave Park (7.35pm).

There were seven Munster players in international action at the weekend.

Craig Casey made his first 6 Nations start against Italy in Rome with Jack Crowley making his 6 Nations debut off the bench.

Dave Kilcoyne, Peter O’Mahony and Conor Murray also featured as Ireland made it three bonus-point wins in three games.

The Ireland U20s have also secured maximum points with Academy pair Ruadhán Quinn and Evan O’Connell in action against Italy alongside fellow Munster men Brian Gleeson, Danny Sheahan and Jacob Sheahan.

Joey Carbery, Jack Crowley, Gavin Coombes and Roman Salanoa have all been released back to the Munster squad from Ireland camp with no 6 Nations action this weekend.

Ben Healy will also rejoin his Munster team-mates from Scotland camp.

On the injury front, RG Snyman returned to training with the squad in recent weeks and is available for selection.

Calvin Nash (chest), Jack O’Donoghue (calf), Paddy Patterson (calf) and Jack O’Sullivan (thigh) have all returned to training and their availability will be determined later in the week.

Liam Coombes will begin rehabilitation with the medical department for a thigh injury.

There were 10 Munster players in AIL action for their clubs at the weekend.

Six players featured in the Limerick derby between Garryowen and Shannon at Dooradoyle.

Kieran Ryan, Darragh McSweeney and Daniel Okeke helped Shannon to the win as Cian Hurley, Tony Butler and Mark Donnelly lined out for Garryowen with Butler kicking three penalties and a conversion.

A Young Munster side featuring Dan Goggin, Patrick Campbell and Shay McCarthy beat Ballynahinch with Campbell and McCarthy both touching down.

Daniel Hurley was a try-scorer for Cork Constitution as they were beaten by UCD.
