Munster go into next week’s URC quarter-finals after a fine run of form that has lifted the province to fifth in the table ahead of Saturday week’s knock-out clash against Glasgow Warriors at Scotstoun (7.35pm, live on RTÉ).

Eight wins and one draw in the final 11 games of the regular campaign secured a place-off place and guarantees Champions Cup rugby for next season.

A tough start to the season saw Munster win two of the opening seven games but Graham Rowntree’s side have been on a good run of form over the past six months to reach the play-offs.

Munster have the best defence in the URC with the least points conceded (357, less than 20 points per game) and the least tries conceded (47, 2.6 per game).

Points & Appearances (URC & Champions Cup)

Joey Carbery is the province’s top scorer with 124 points and Gavin Coombes has scored the most tries with 14 in 19 appearances.

Jack O’Donoghue tops the appearances chart having played in 22 of Munster’s 23 fixtures.

Shane Daly and Jean Kleyn have each played 21 matches with Daly playing the most minutes for Munster this season (1,560).

Daly has played the last 20 games in-a-row, making 19 starts, with Kleyn starting the last 16 in-a-row.

Awards & Landmarks (URC & Champions Cup)

Peter O’Mahony (two), Tadhg Beirne (two), Gavin Coombes (two), John Hodnett (two), Calvin Nash, Joey Carbery, Paddy Patterson, Jean Kleyn and Jack Crowley have been Munster’s Player of the Match winners so far this season.

John Ryan and Keith Earls both made their landmark 200th Munster appearances.
