The Munster men’s squad are preparing for their opening fixture of the 2023/24 campaign as Leinster visit Musgrave Park on Friday night at 6pm.

The game kicks off two hours and 15 minutes before the Rugby World Cup opener between France and the All Blacks in Paris (8.15pm).

On the operations front, the capacity of Musgrave Park has been increased from 8,008 to 8,800 after amendments were made to the East Terrace.

The capacity will increase in stages and is set at 8,400 for Munster v Leinster.

Over 7,800 tickets have already been snapped up for the game with the final match tickets, including the additional 400 East Terrace tickets, available here.

The game is not televised but there will be a live stream on Access Munster – sign up here.

Along with the senior and Academy players, a number of talented youngsters have also been training with the squad this summer ahead of upcoming ‘A’/Development game/s (details TBC).

Josh Costello, Sean Edogbo, Stephen Kiely, Andrew O’Mahony, Jake O’Riordan, Oisín Pepper, Jacob Sheahan, Harry Long and Gordon Wood have all spent time with the squad at the HPC.

As part of the pre-season training programme, the squad trained with Cork Constitution FC and Shannon RFC last month with both sessions proving very beneficial.
