Barbarians Men have confirmed the first four players for the clash against Munster men at Thomond Park on Saturday, September 30 (4.30pm).

France internationals Virimi Vakatawa and Sofiane Guitoune, Fiji’s Leone Nakarawa and Springbok Rynhardt Elstadt will all line out at Thomond Park in the historic clash.

31-year-old Virimi Vakatawa made his return to action for the Barbarians against Tonga last month after retiring in 2022 due to a medical issue.

A superstar of 15s and 7s rugby, Fijian-born Vakatawa has scored 10 tries in 31 appearances for France, 49 tries in 145 appearances for Racing 92 and 60 tries in 82 appearances for the France 7s team.

He has lined out against Munster on four occasions and was Player of the Match when the sides met at the U Arena in January 2020.

Giant Fijian lock Leone Nakarawa is known for his brilliant offloading and athleticism and has played for Glasgow Warriors, Racing 92, Toulon and Castres.

He has scored 13 tries in 66 caps for Fiji and 23 tries in 86 appearances for Racing 92.

Nakarawa has lined out against Munster on six previous occasions, including the 2015 PRO12 final when he helped Glasgow Warriors beat Munster to the title.

Capped four times by the Springboks, lock/flanker Rynhardt Elstadt is a multiple Champions Cup and Top 14 winner with Toulouse.

He has made 100 appearances for the French club since joining in 2016 from Stormers.

Sofiane Guitoune has scored three tries in nine caps for France and is another serial Champions Cup and Top 14 winner with Toulouse.

He has scored 26 tries in 101 appearances for the French giants since joining from Bordeaux in 2016 and can play in the centre and on the wing.
