Munster Rugby Academy hooker Max Clein joined the province last summer and made his return from injury for Garryowen at the weekend.

Max won a Pinergy Munster Schools Boys Senior Cup with Crescent College Comp alongside fellow Academy man Ruadhán Quinn in 2022.

He converted from a back-row forward to hooker after leaving school and has been playing AIL rugby for Garryowen for the past two seasons.

He lined out for the Ireland U20s at last summer’s World Championship in South Africa and credits the sadly departed Greig Oliver and Tom Tierney as two big influences in his rugby career so far.
