Currys Renews Partnership With Munster Rugby

Currys is proud to announce the extension of its partnership with Munster Rugby, continuing its role as the Official Technology Supplier for the next two seasons.

Through this collaboration, Currys will equip Munster Rugby’s High-Performance Centre with state-of-the-art technology, supporting the team’s pursuit of peak performance.

The technology provided will include advanced tools such as DJI drones and GoPro cameras, enabling multi-angle capture of training sessions. This footage, synchronised with GPS tracking software, allows for comprehensive player analysis, helping the team optimize performance and track improvements.

At Thomond Park, Munster Rugby players Gavin Coombes, Tom Farrell and Billy Burns joined Keith McMahon, General Manager at Currys Limerick, to celebrate the continuation of this technology partnership.

Originally established in 2021, the partnership provides Munster Rugby with the latest in cutting-edge technology, playing an integral role in preparing players and coaches for critical moments on the field. Currys’ contributions include:

• MacBooks and iPads: Essential for coaches to analyse training footage, review game performance, and prepare for upcoming opponents.

• Large-screen LG TVs: Featuring the latest display technology, these screens provide a superior viewing experience for live, in-game reviews.

• High-performance videography equipment: Including GoPro cameras and DJI OSMO drones, which capture training from various angles for detailed performance review by players and coaching staff.

Commenting on the renewal, Hannah Armstrong Brand Manager from Currys said:
“We’re thrilled to renew our partnership with Munster Rugby, and we’re confident that the technology we provide will continue to elevate the training and development of players across the club.

“At Currys, we take pride in delivering the very best in technology, and we’re excited to support Munster Rugby in achieving success this season and beyond.”

Munster Rugby’s Lead Performance Analyst & Technical Coach, George Murray, added:

“Our Performance Analysis Department is dedicated to maximising our teams’ win potential. Technology from Currys – such as drones and Apple devices – enables our analysis team to capture multi-angle footage for both team and individual review, supporting the ongoing development of our players. During games, this tech provides coaches and sideline staff with real-time visual and data feedback, allowing us to make quick adjustments for optimal performance.”

“Post-game, laptops provided by Currys allow coaches to analyse team and individual metrics and review opposition scouting data, enhancing our preparation for each match. Currys’ continuous support enables us to stay at the forefront of sports performance technology,” said Murray.

With the renewal of this partnership, Currys and Munster Rugby look forward to another season of shared success and innovation on and off the field.
