Squad Update | Munster Prepare For Dragons In URC

The Munster squad have started preparations at the HPC ahead of Saturday’s URC Round 10 clash against Dragons at Rodney Parade (7.35pm, live on RTÉ & Premier Sports).

On the injury front, Diarmuid Kilgallen (wrist) and Peter O’Mahony (calf contusion) both made successful returns against Northampton and came through the game with no issues.

Mike Haley suffered an ankle injury at the weekend and will go for a scan today. Niall Scannell failed a HIA and will enter the graduated return-to-play protocols.

Shane Daly is progressing through the graduated return-to-play protocols and his availability will be determined later this week.

In international news, Tadhg Beirne, Jack Crowley, Conor Murray, Calvin Nash and Peter O’Mahony are all set to link up with the Ireland squad as they begin their 6 Nations preparations.

Continuing to rehab: Dave Kilcoyne (thigh), Scott Buckley (calf), Alex Nankivell (hamstring), Thaakir Abrahams (shoulder), Craig Casey (knee), Jean Kleyn (thigh), Liam Coombes (chest), Seán O’Brien (leg), Jeremy Loughman (hip), Josh Wycherley (neck), Patrick Campbell (shoulder), Cian Hurley (knee), Edwin Edogbo (Achilles), Roman Salanoa (knee).

There were six Munster players in Energia All Ireland League action at the weekend.

Four players were in Division 1A Munster derby action as Cork Constitution beat Garryowen with Danny Sheahan among the tries for Con. Jack Oliver, George Hadden and Max Clein started for Garryowen with Oliver kicking a conversion and a penalty.

Jake O’Riordan featured for Young Munster as they were beaten by St Mary’s College.

In Division 1B, Seán Edogbo helped UCC to a home win over Blackrock College.
