Anthony Foley has been forced to cry off Ireland s upcoming Summer Tour to Australia, Tonga and Samoa because of a neck injury.

His back row place will be filled by Aidan McCullen of Leinster and Lansdowne.

Foley s withdrawal from the 41-man squad follows the unavailability also because of injury of Brian O Driscoll (hamstring), Shane Horgan (thigh), John Hayes (groin), Jeremy Staunton (groin) and Neil Doak (shoulder).

Foley s place at No. 8 in the Colours team to play Whites in a pre Tour training match at Thomond Park, Limerick tomorrow, Friday, May 24 (kick off 5.30 pm) will be taken by Victor Costello. He switches teams from N0. 6 on the Whites, with David Wallace moving from N0. 7 to 6 on the Whites and Kieron Dawson being promoted from the Colours replacements to fill Wallace s original place on Whites.

The re-shaped Whites back row now reads: N0. 6 Wallace, N0. 7 Dawson, N0. 8 Eric Miller.

The back row vacancy in the Colours replacements will be filled by Denis Leamy (Munster UCC).
