Munster U21’s emerged convincing winners over Connacht in Galway on Saturday. They dominated play throughout and won 45-9. It was a different story however for the youths, who lost to Connacht 6-3.

The U21’s dominated throughout the game with half back’s Barry Keeshan and Tomas O’Leary running the game. Munster scores came from Richard Lane and Paul Hurley who got two tries a piece and further tries came from Brian Hastings, Tomas O’Leary and Brendan O’Connor. Barry Keeshan converted two tries and kicked a further two penalties to give Munster a 45-9 win.

In the first half of the youth’s game both teams were evenly matched and they went into the break at nil all after Connacht’s Aidan Wynn missed two shots at goal. Aidan Wynn opened the scoring in the second half with a penalty to send Connacht 3-0 ahead. Munster’s Kevin Doyle (son of All Ireland Football winner Tommy doyle) equalized with a drop goal, but Connacht’s Wynn got another Penalty to leave the score at 6-3.

Munster had started the game well but Connacht continually dominated and emerged deserved winners.
